Youth/Student Ministries Pastor

Church Overview:
Church on the Rock is a Holy Spirit-driven Assembly of God church with a multi-generational and
multi-ethnic congregation of 200-250 people at our Sunday service. We believe in a supernatural move of God and desire a pastor who is ready to lead our youth into the presence of God! We are running approximately 20-25 youth a week during their Wednesday night gatherings. We are poised for amazing growth. We have a great vision for our Youth Ministry and we are looking for the right pastor who also has great vision to take this ministry to the next level.

Position Overview:
The Youth Pastor will lead and oversee ministries for grades 6-12, focusing on spiritual, social,
and emotional growth. This role includes developing discipleship and evangelism programs,
empowering students as campus missionaries, and leading a team of volunteers to implement the vision of COTR’s Student Ministries.

Some Key Responsibilities:
● Coordinate and facilitate youth ministries for students in grades 6-12, including regular
group meetings, Sunday School, Bible Study, mentoring, spiritual formation, and youth
mission/serving opportunities.
● Provide care for youth and their families within the church, including hospital visits.
● Support the development of a youth worship team.
● Collaborate with children’s program classes (10–12-year-olds) as a conduit for the youth
program growth.
● Identify and recruit high-capacity leaders, both youth and adults.
● Equip, train, and empower leaders to own a role.
● Continually encourage, motivate, and care for leaders.
● Give regular updates/reports for this department to the senior pastor.
● Attend Sunday prayer night
● Maintain a presence on social media and other digital platforms for the program.
● Foster relationships with local schools, engaging students, faculty, and coaches.
● Oversee initiatives to empower students as campus missionaries.
● Have the ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
● Preach at Sunday services about once a month.

Fun Responsibilities:
● Plan at least one special event with the youth once every 4-6 weeks, i.e. game night, grad
night, etc.
● Coordinate taking students to youth conferences 2-3 times per year
● Supporting the COTR fireworks booth fundraiser
● Facilitate taking a group of students to a summer camp program
● Support all COTR ministry events by personally helping and leading a youth team in
serving at these events, i.e. Thanksgiving event, Christmas event, Serve Day, etc.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
● Follows the guidelines given in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:2-4.
● Is committed to moral integrity, purity, spiritual intensity, and accountability to leadership.
● Is showing evidence of a life that is submitted to the Holy Spirit.
● Has a passion and vision to reach new youth and young adults and their families.
● Has a servant-heart and teachable spirit, with the ability to adapt quickly in a continuously
growing ministry.
● Is a team player - enjoys collaborating with others and has a “get-it-done” and “how can I
help” attitude.
● Is passionately committed to Church on the Rock’s vision and philosophy of ministry.
● Has the ability to inspire people and keep a group motivated.
● Has a Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
● Has 2+ years of experience in youth ministry leadership
● Has Assemblies of God credentials or willing to acquire within three years
● Has strong vision-casting, organizational, leadership, and discipleship skills.
